Your Role
and What You\’ll Be Doing
As a Conflicts Officer within the Client Onboarding team, you’ll play a pivotal role in welcoming clients to Irwin Mitchell by onboarding them compliantly and promptly and working with colleagues within your team and the wider Legal Service Teams.
You will be expected to :
- Complete intermediate to complex conflicts checks in line with regulatory and legal requirements.
- Interpret, analyse and resolve conflict of interest issues, providing clear, accurate and practical advice for fee earners
- Communicate regulatory obligations to colleagues, senior colleagues and clients to maintain compliance
- Escalate complex matters to the Senior Officer, expressing your own opinions and proposed solutions to then complete these matters
- Work with our General Counsel team to mitigate risks
- Maintain continuous professional development by keeping abreast of relevant evolving legislation and guidance.
About You
- Experience within a Conflicts role is essential
- Knowledge of SRA regulatory and legal conflicts
- Practical application of regulatory rules and case law on conflicts in a law firm.
- Ability to stand up to challenge and be challenged
- Good work management skills with an ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
