Your Role And What You'll Be Doing

As a Paralegal, you’ll join the team to provide assistance with the receivership process (including drafting appointment documents and undertaking HM Land Registry searches), the appointment of administrators and with transactions such as the sale of companies via pre‑packaged administration sales. You will have the responsibility for managing your own caseloads and developing strong relationships with your own clients. You’ll be required to provide preliminary advice and guidance to clients, as well as preparing letters and documents for court cases. In addition, you may be required to assist with insolvency petitions and applications such as bankruptcy, winding up, applications under s236 of the Insolvency Act 1986, preference claims, claims for transactions at an undervalue and applications for possession.

You’ll need to have the confidence to deal with matters right from the very beginning, being both approachable as well as efficient, to resolve matters as quickly as possible for our clients. You will also support the team on a variety of projects as required. This is an exciting and varied role. As a Paralegal, you’ll work to support leading solicitors and experts on interesting and diverse cases. You’ll be expected to provide assistance with regard to the team's clients and caseloads, including dealing with new client enquiries, drafting documents, conducting legal research, speaking with clients, experts and supporting the team's business development activities.

Working within the team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with leading individuals on landmark cases and will be supported by them to further your knowledge of Restructuring and Insolvency law. Given the nature of the role, you'll need to be commercially minded and communicate with professionalism at all times. You'll need to be able to strike the balance between working quickly and efficiently but also remembering the client is at the heart of everything you do.

  • Relevant Paralegal experience, within Restructuring and Insolvency or Property
  • A friendly, proactive and professional approach, with strong communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident in managing competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • You must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in this area of law
