This role can be based out of our Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle office. At Irwin Mitchell, our work goes far beyond securing compensation.

We help clients find answers, achieve accountability and drive improvements that can prevent the same mistakes happening to others.

Our Medical Negligence team is recognised as one of the UK's leading claimant practices, acting for individuals and families who have suffered life-changing injuries as a result of failures in healthcare. This opportunity sits within our specialist Group Actions team, one of the few teams in the UK dedicated to representing large groups of people affected by the same medical treatment, healthcare provider, medical device or pharmaceutical product.

The work is complex, challenging and often attracts significant public interest, giving you the opportunity to be involved in cases which can influence patient safety, healthcare standards and regulatory practice on a national scale.

Your RoleYou'll join Partner Tim Annett's specialist Group Actions team, working on some of the most significant and high-profile cases in the UK.The team represents groups of claimants affected by systemic healthcare failings, defective medical devices and pharmaceutical products, often acting in cases that help bring issues into the public spotlight and support wider change across the healthcare sector.

As part of the role, you'll: Manage your own caseload of medical negligence and group action matters.

Support partners and senior lawyers on large-scale, high-value and high-profile litigation.

Provide clear, compassionate and practical advice to clients and their families.

Work closely with leading experts, counsel and stakeholder groups across complex investigations and claims.

Contribute to litigation strategies designed to achieve the best outcomes for clients whilst supporting broader patient safety improvements.

Play an active role in sharing knowledge and supporting the continued growth of the team.
