The work is complex, challenging and often attracts significant public interest, giving you the opportunity to be involved in cases which can influence patient safety, healthcare standards and regulatory practice on a national scale.The team represents groups of claimants affected by systemic healthcare failings, defective medical devices and pharmaceutical products, often acting in cases that help bring issues into the public spotlight and support wider change across the healthcare sector.Representing patients affected by concerns relating to spinal surgery carried out at Manchester hospitals, helping individuals and families seek answers following findings of life-changing harm (Manchester spinal surgeon review finds patients suffered life-changing harm)Supporting families affected by the Lucy Letby case, including representing Core Participants throughout the Thirlwall Inquiry (Families affected by Lucy Letby crimes react as Thirlwall Inquiry report published)Appointment as Lead Solicitors for the Claimants in the NexGen Litigation, a product liability case relating to alleged defective knee implants (More than 50 patients launch legal action over recalled Zimmer NexGen knee implants)Acting for patients at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and Great Ormond St Hospital in connection with concerns raised about paediatric orthopaedic surgery (Yaser Jabbar Medical Negligence Claims Solicitors | Irwin Mitchell)This is a rare opportunity to build expertise in a specialist area of litigation whilst working alongside some of the most experienced group action lawyers in the country.As part of the role, you'll:Manage your own caseload of medical negligence and group action matters.Support partners and senior lawyers on large-scale, high-value and high-profile litigation.Work closely with leading experts, counsel and stakeholder groups across complex investigations and claims.Contribute to litigation strategies designed to achieve the best outcomes for clients whilst supporting broader patient safety improvements.Our Group Actions team combines the resources and expertise required to manage some of the largest and most complex claims in the UK, whilst remaining firmly focused on what matters most: delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.
