Your Role and What You’ll Be Doing
We are looking for an experienced Senior Insurance Manager to lead and manage the insurance programme for Irwin Mitchell. This includes overseeing renewals, managing claims, and ensuring compliance with insurer conditions. The role is highly visible and influential, working closely with senior stakeholders to manage risk and provide assurance across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the insurance process for the business, including Professional Indemnity, Cyber, Directors and Officers Liability Insurance, Employment Practices Liability Insurance, and Business Interruption.
- Handle a high volume of professional indemnity claims and liaise with brokers and insurers.
- Actively manage the insurance programme and any associated conditions or side projects.
- Identify and manage risks, ensuring insurance coverage aligns with business needs.
- Provide guidance and training on insurance and risk management best practices.
About You
Experience Required
- Legal services experience with strong understanding of risk and professional indemnity.
- Insurance professional with experience managing corporate insurance programmes.
- Broad insurance knowledge.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Understanding of Risk Management in relation to insurance.
- SRA/FCA/Regulatory understanding.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of legal procedures - particularly policy wordings and contract law.
- Ability to network and proactively build relationships across a range of internal departments.
- Successful track record in handling insurance negotiations between Client, Broker and Insurers.
- Strong commitment to deliver results and make a meaningful contribution in a team environment.
