Our medical negligence team has extensive experience in clinical negligence claims arising from all aspects of medical treatment including obstetrics, surgery, private and general practice treatment and psychiatric care.
Your Role and What You'll Be Doing
You don’t always need to have a law degree to work as a Paralegal at Irwin Mitchell. In the Medical Negligence Team, we’re keen to have you on board if you are a great team player and willing to learn quickly. You'll be involved in multi-track value cases, with wide ranging types of claims ranging in value up to multi-million pounds. Your role will involve but is not limited to:
- Speaking to new / potential clients and taking details of their claim.
- Taking instructions from clients and assisting with the giving of legal advice, including obtaining evidence and, where appropriate, assist with litigation, to achieve appropriate resolutions for the clients.
- Achieving time recording and fee income targets to ensure profitable working.
- Supporting case handlers generally in the running of the cases.
- Attending and contributing to team/practice area meetings and complying with directions/decisions made to ensure team objectives achieved.
- Keeping up to date with changes in relevant law and practice and attending appropriate training events to ensure up to date legal knowledge and best practice.
