This is an exciting opportunity to join a multi‑disciplinary practice, where you will play an active role in the delivery of projects to a wide range of public and private sector clients across London and the South East of England.
Location: Uckfield, England, United Kingdom
Day‑to‑Day Tasks:
- Cost Estimating to NRM1 standard
- Procurement and Tendering
- Working with JCT Suite of Contracts
- Project Financial Control and Reporting
- Valuations
- Risk Management
A detailed understanding of all the above is essential.
To Be Successful In This Role:
- Ideally be a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
- Have over 8 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor and more than 4 years in a Senior QS position.
- Extensive experience of the day‑to‑day tasks listed above.
- Previous experience on a variety of public sector works ranging from £500,000 to £30,000,000.
- Be well organised, efficient, using initiative and working to tight deadlines.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, eye for detail, commitment to excellence and building strong client relationships.
- Proactive problem‑solving approach and ability to bring solutions to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Proven IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and ideally experience with measurement software such as CostX.
- Able to identify areas of commercial opportunity for future development.
- Experience managing, mentoring and training juniors/graduates.
- Possess a full UK driving licence and have access to a car.
- Reside within a 40‑minute commute from Sidcup.
