The role is focused on helping to ensure the safe delivery of major works projects within the utilities sector. Responsibilities for the Head of Health and Safety will include:
- Liaising with senior managers, clients and external stakeholders ensuring responsibilities are clear and answering technical health and safety related enquiries
- Assessing upcoming challenges and ensuring health and safety solutions are in place
- Constantly assessing opportunities for health and safety improvement
- Leading on major health and safety incident investigations to identify root cause and making recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
The successful Head of Health and Safety candidate will have:
- Proven leadership experience in a similar role ideally within construction, utilities, civil engineering or a related industry
- Experience in influencing, engaging and coaching senior management and engaging with site level operations
- Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) - desirable
- A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance, and regulations
