With operations and customers across more than 40 countries, the business has a diverse international footprint, making this a key regional role supporting HSE performance across EMEA.
The Regional Head of Health, Safety and Environmental - EMEA will act as the regional representative of the Global HSE function, partnering with leadership teams, business areas and local operations across the region. The role combines strategic business partnering with governance, assurance, critical risk management and operational support.
What can you expect in this role?
- Act as the regional HSE business partner to leadership teams, site leaders and operational teams across EMEA, implementing Rotork's global HSE strategy.
- Provide expert guidance on critical risks, process safety and critical control management, ensuring risks are properly identified, assessed and controlled.
- Challenge traditional safety approaches, focusing on the hierarchy of controls and risk reduction rather than relying solely on behavioural interventions.
- Support operations and field service teams in managing high-potential risks, including workplace transport, hazardous substances, electrical safety, confined spaces, working at height and pressurised systems.
- Conduct and support HSE audits, assurance activities, site engagements, risk reviews and incident investigations across the EMEA region.
- Use HSE data, incident trends and assurance findings to identify systemic risks and drive continuous improvement.
- Coach and mentor local HSE professionals and operational leaders, building capability and consistency across the region.
- Build strong relationships with site and plant managers, influencing and challenging stakeholders while bringing teams with you.
- Support HSE governance, reporting and management systems, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, and contribute to senior leadership and PLC board reporting.
- Facilitate regional HSE networks, share best practice and liaise with customers, regulators and other external stakeholders where required.
What does this role offer you?
- Salary of £80,000 - £100,000, dependent on experience.
- A genuinely international EMEA remit across multiple countries and business environments.
- Up to 30% travel across the EMEA region.
- Direct exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence HSE performance across a global organisation.
- A broad remit spanning critical risk, process safety, occupational safety, environmental management, assurance and governance.
- The opportunity to make a tangible improvement to how Rotork manages its highest-consequence risks.
What we're looking for:
- 10+ years' HSE experience within complex, high-risk or multinational environments, ideally across multiple sites, countries or regions.
- Strong experience in critical risk management, process safety and high-hazard environments, ideally within sectors such as oil & gas, chemicals, power, utilities, energy or heavy industry.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, with experience across HSE management systems, ISO 45001/14001, assurance, auditing, incident investigation and risk assessment.
- Excellent business partnering, influencing, coaching and mentoring skills, with the credibility to engage everyone from operational teams through to senior leadership and board level.
- A pragmatic, risk-based approach to HSE, with the ability to challenge established thinking, implement best practice and travel up to 30% across EMEA.
