3-6 Month Contract

We are seeking a dedicated Interim Fire Safety Advisor to oversee fire risk management, compliance, and contractor supervision at a renowned college in Oxford. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safety and operational integrity of a vibrant academic community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all fire safety contractors, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulations.
  • Conduct regular fire risk assessments, review safety documentation, and monitor remedial actions.
  • Maintain and test fire alarm, detection, and emergency lighting systems, ensuring ongoing operational readiness.
  • Organise and lead fire drills and emergency response exercises, including training fire wardens.
  • Keep detailed records of fire safety audits, inspections, and safety improvements.

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Fire and Safety qualification or equivalent (or willing to attain).
  • Proven experience in fire safety management within complex or historic building environments.
  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to liaise effectively with contractors and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant fire safety legislation and best practices.
