We are seeking a dedicated Interim Fire Safety Advisor to oversee fire risk management, compliance, and contractor supervision at a renowned college in Oxford. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safety and operational integrity of a vibrant academic community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all fire safety contractors, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulations.
- Conduct regular fire risk assessments, review safety documentation, and monitor remedial actions.
- Maintain and test fire alarm, detection, and emergency lighting systems, ensuring ongoing operational readiness.
- Organise and lead fire drills and emergency response exercises, including training fire wardens.
- Keep detailed records of fire safety audits, inspections, and safety improvements.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Fire and Safety qualification or equivalent (or willing to attain).
- Proven experience in fire safety management within complex or historic building environments.
- Strong organisational skills and an ability to liaise effectively with contractors and internal teams.
- Knowledge of relevant fire safety legislation and best practices.
