Are you ready to take ownership of Health, Safety and Environmental performance at a fast-paced food manufacturing site? We're partnering with a well-established and growing food manufacturer to recruit a Health, Safety & Environment Manager for one of their key production facilities in West London. This is a highly visible role, sitting on the site leadership team and playing a key part in shaping culture, influencing behaviours, and driving continuous improvement across the operation.
This role would suit someone who enjoys being operationally visible, building relationships on the shop floor, and influencing leaders and teams without relying on hierarchy.
The Health, Safety & Environment Manager will:
- Lead the site Health, Safety and Environmental strategy, aligned to operational and business objectives
- Drive behavioural safety initiatives and help embed a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture
- Coach and influence leaders and operators across the site to improve safety ownership and decision-making
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, audits and risk management activities
- Ensure compliance with UK legislation and maintain robust HSE management systems
- Oversee fire safety, emergency preparedness, contractor management and security processes across the site
- Work cross-functionally to improve environmental performance, including waste reduction, utilities usage and energy efficiency
- Act as the site's competent person and key contact for external regulators and enforcement bodies
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven Health & Safety leadership experience within food manufacturing or another fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong experience influencing behavioural safety culture and engaging operational teams
- Experience working closely with senior leadership teams and influencing without direct authority
- NEBOSH Diploma, or working towards it
- A practical, hands-on approach with strong shop-floor presence
- Experience leading audits, investigations, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives
- Environmental or sustainability experience would be beneficial
