Are you an experienced Health and Safety professional looking to take the next step into a Business Partner role? Would you enjoy the autonomy to manage your own diary while working alongside senior operational leaders to influence and improve safety performance across a large, multi-site business?

We're partnering with one of the UK's leading builders' merchants to recruit a Health and Safety Business Partner. Employing over 4,500 people nationwide, the business has a well-established safety culture and is looking for an engaging Health and Safety professional to support operations across the South of England, partnering with Regional Directors and Branch Managers to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Business Partner will include:

  • Partnering with stakeholders to drive a positive and proactive health and safety culture across the region.
  • Providing practical advice and guidance on health and safety legislation, risk management and best practice.
  • Delivering audits, inspections and assurance activities, identifying opportunities to continually improve safety performance.
  • Coaching and influencing operational teams to take ownership of health and safety rather than relying on the safety function.
  • Supporting fire safety compliance across the region where required.

The successful Health and Safety Business Partner will have:

  • A NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health and Safety qualification.
  • Experience within a multi-site operational environment such as logistics, warehousing, retail, facilities management or a similar fast paced industry.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage managers at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills with a pragmatic approach to health and safety.
