Location: West Sussex | Salary: 75,000 + Company vehicle and Excellent Benefits

We are pleased to be engaged to recruit a Head of Health and Safety for a leading specialist utilities contractor with a turnover exceeding 500 million. The role focuses on ensuring the safe and successful delivery of one of their largest contracts. It involves regular travel primarily across the South Coast and is vital to the company\’s ongoing success.

Responsibilities of the Head of Health and Safety include:

1. Implementing health and safety policies and procedures on site, ensuring compliance and staying updated with key legislative changes.
2. Engaging with site managers to clarify responsibilities and address technical health and safety inquiries.
3. Monitoring updates to legislation related to Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality, ensuring organizational compliance.
4. Providing leadership, guidance, and management on all Health & Safety (H&S) matters.
5. Analyzing H&S trends, identifying risks, and developing strategies for continuous improvement.

Requirements for the Head of Health and Safety :

1. Proven experience in Health and Safety within utilities, construction, or related industries.
2. NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification.
3. Strong technical knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, compliance, and regulations.
4. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders.
5. Valid UK Driver\’s License is essential.
