We're supporting a leading chemicals company operating across the UK to appoint an HSE Manager at their busy Thames Terminal.

This critical role requires a proactive safety leader to oversee compliance, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the safety of personnel and operations on this busy COMAH site.

The successful HSE Manager will:

  • Act as the principal advisor on health, safety, and environment, ensuring statutory compliance and safe working practices.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and initiatives to improve safety and environmental standards.
  • Conduct and oversee risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits, ensuring all actions are completed effectively.
  • Manage contractor safety processes, including permits, method statements, and hazard controls.
  • Provide training, support, and leadership to promote a strong safety culture across the terminal.

The successful HSE Manager will have:

  • Relevant health and safety qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH) or equivalent, with active CPD engagement.
  • COMAH experience and/or experience in the chemical, oil and gas, energy or related industries.
  • Proven ability to lead safety initiatives, conduct investigations, and manage contractors in high-hazard settings.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and quick adaptation to new systems.
