Health, Safety and Environmental Manager – Bristol

Salary: ~£65,000 – £70,000 plus up to 10% bonus.

We are seeking an experienced HSE professional to lead safety and environmental initiatives at a 24/7 manufacturing site. You will work closely with senior management to implement, maintain, and improve HSE standards across the site, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of safety and environmental programmes, including audits, risk assessments, investigations, and compliance activities.
  • Drive a positive safety culture through staff engagement, training, and communication initiatives.
  • Manage the site's Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001:2018, ensuring ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate the environmental licence (IPPC), statutory reporting, and sustainability metrics related to energy, waste, and water.
  • Represent the organisation at external HSE forums and build networks for safety development and best practice sharing.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Solid experience within a manufacturing or process environment, particularly in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation, ISO standards, and environmental management.
  • Proven ability to lead from the top down, influencing colleagues at all levels.
  • Environmental qualifications and hands‑on experience with environmental systems management.
