The successful individual will strengthen safety governance, assurance and risk management while working closely with senior leaders to embed a proactive safety culture. Key responsibilities of the Director of Health, Safety and Fire are:

  • Setting the strategic direction for health, safety and fire across the estate, ensuring alignment with legal requirements, industry best practice and internal standards.
  • Leading company-wide safety risk management and safety assurance, embedding robust governance, reporting and leading indicators to drive performance.
  • Influencing senior stakeholders and acting as a trusted adviser to the executive leadership team, shaping priorities and decision-making.
  • Providing leadership to a multidisciplinary team, developing capability, performance and a visible, collaborative safety function.

The successful Director of Health, Safety and Fire will have:

  • NEBOSH Diploma and a Chartered membership of IOSH is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety and fire safety legislation, with the ability to apply it in complex and fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrable experience of driving cultural change, improving Health & Safety performance and influencing across all levels.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including working with external regulators and partners.
