Key responsibilities of the Director of Health, Safety and Fire are:
- Setting the strategic direction for health, safety and fire across the estate, ensuring alignment with legal requirements, industry best practice and internal standards.
- Leading company-wide safety risk management and safety assurance, embedding robust governance, reporting and leading indicators to drive performance.
- Influencing senior stakeholders and acting as a trusted adviser to the executive leadership team, shaping priorities and decision-making.
- Providing leadership to a multidisciplinary team, developing capability, performance and a visible, collaborative safety function.
The successful Director of Health, Safety and Fire will have:
- NEBOSH Diploma and a Chartered membership of IOSH is essential.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety and fire safety legislation, with the ability to apply it in complex and fast-paced environments.
- Demonstrable experience of driving cultural change, improving Health & Safety performance and influencing across all levels.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including working with external regulators and partners.
