Group Environment, Health & Safety Adviser | Liverpool | Circa Β£45,000 + Excellent Benefits

Are you an Environment, Health & Safety professional looking to broaden your experience and take the next step in your career?

Would you like the opportunity to work across a busy operation, getting involved in EHS projects, audits and continuous improvement?

We are working with a leading UK ports operator to recruit a Group Environment, Health & Safety Adviser. This is an excellent opportunity to join a central Group EHS team, supporting the delivery of the organisation's EHS strategy across its ports and terminals. Rather than being focused on one individual site, you'll work collaboratively with EHS and operational teams across the business, helping develop Group standards, understand key risks and identify opportunities to continually improve EHS performance.

Responsibilities of the Group EHS Adviser will include:

  • Support the delivery of the Group EHS Strategy and its Journey to Zero Harm, helping deliver strategic objectives and improvement initiatives across the organisation.
  • Develop EHS policies, procedures and guidance, incorporating both legislative compliance and industry best practice.
  • Undertake Group assurance activities including auditing, action tracking and reporting, supporting effective governance and compliance.
  • Support the continual development and improvement of the Group EHS Management System.
  • Work closely with port-based EHS Managers and operational teams to embed Group standards and share best practice.
  • Undertake Visible Felt Leadership visits across ports and terminals, engaging directly with operational teams.
  • Lead and support EHS projects aligned with the wider Group strategy.
  • Support periodic EHS reporting requirements, providing accurate information to key stakeholders.
  • Help coordinate, develop and embed the organisation's environmental agenda.
  • Attend Group EHS, project and strategy meetings, working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business.

The successful Group EHS Adviser will have:

  • Some experience working in Health, Safety & Environment, ideally within an operational environment.
  • A NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • Good communication skills, with the confidence to work with different teams and build relationships across the business.
  • A proactive attitude and an interest in developing your experience across EHS projects, audits and continuous improvement.

What does the Group EHS Adviser role offer you?

  • Competitive salary of circa Β£45,000, plus bonus.
  • Matched pension contribution of up to 10%.
  • 27 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays and a holiday buy/sell scheme.
  • Car lease scheme, Medicash and additional salary sacrifice benefits.
  • Continued support for professional qualifications and career development.
  • The opportunity to move beyond a single-site role and gain exposure to Group-level EHS strategy, governance and assurance.

Join a forward-thinking organisation committed to safety, sustainability, and diversity. Grow your career in a supportive, inclusive culture where you can truly make a difference.
