Would you like to join a global pharmaceutical manufacturing business in a newly created leadership role where you can shape standards across a growing regional operation?

We are supporting a global pharmaceutical manufacturing business in the appointment of a HSE Lead to provide strategic leadership and technical authority across its EMEA manufacturing sites and laboratories. This is a newly created position, established to bring greater consistency to HSE standards, reporting and performance across a number of sites, including newly acquired operations with different cultures, processes and manufacturing environments.

You will work closely with Site Leaders, Operations, Engineering and Maintenance teams to understand the risks and challenges within each environment, while also providing oversight across specialist laboratories supporting customers with APIs. The role will suit a pragmatic, commercially aware HSE leader who can balance strong technical standards with the realities of different sites, cultures and operational requirements.

Responsibilities of the Health, Safety and Environment Lead will include:

  • Leading HSE and Process Safety strategy across EMEA pharmaceutical sites and laboratories
  • Acting as technical authority for DSEAR and ATEX, including explosion risk controls
  • Leading risk assessments, HAZOPs, management of change and incident investigations
  • Driving HSE systems, compliance, audits, CAPA and continuous improvement
  • Partnering with senior site leaders to strengthen safety culture and performance

The ideal Health, Safety and Environment Lead will have:

  • Senior HSE and Process Safety experience within pharmaceuticals/labs, chemical manufacturing or another high-hazard environment
  • Strong knowledge of DSEAR, ATEX and explosion risk management
  • Experience supporting multi-site and ideally multi-country EMEA operations
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification
  • A pragmatic and collaborative leadership style with strong stakeholder influencing skills

This is an excellent opportunity to work for a world leading brand within their field in a professional working environment.
