Head of Environmental Compliance Liverpool | Salford | Leeds | Newcastle Circa £90,000 + Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits Are you an experienced environmental professional with strong expertise in permitting, compliance, and regulatory engagement, ready to lead compliance for a global recycling specialist? If the answer to the above is yes, then you may be interested in the Head of Environmental Compliance role that I am currently recruiting for. My client is a global leader in the waste and recycling sector, operating across hundreds of sites worldwide and generating revenue more than £4 billion. Key responsibilities of the Head of Environmental Compliance will include: Managing the company\’s portfolio of environmental permits, exemptions, consents, and licences. Overseeing environmental management plans and statutory submissions to regulators, including the Environment Agency, SEPA and local authorities. Acting as the primary liaison with regulators, maintaining proactive relationships and ensuring robust compliance across operations. Driving continuous improvement in environmental governance and supporting regional SHEQ activities.The successful Head of Environmental Compliance candidate will have: Significant experience within the waste sector, with strong knowledge of environmental permitting and regulatory compliance. A degree in an environmental discipline (such as Environmental Science or Chemistry), ideally with professional qualifications (e.g. MCIWM, IEMA). Experience working with regulators, particularly the Environment Agency, and industry associations.
