This senior role reports directly to the Manufacturing Director and is responsible for developing and implementing the HSE strategy, ensuring compliance, and fostering a safety-first environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of the HSE strategy across all sites.
- Providing expert guidance on legislation, risk management, and best practices to senior leadership.
- Overseeing HSE systems, audits, and compliance activities, including ISO standards.
- Building a high-performing HSE team through coaching, development, and capability enhancement.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to embed safety and environmental responsibilities into operations.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in FMCG or fast-paced operational environments, with a strong understanding of UK HSE legislation.
- Demonstrated leadership in shaping safety cultures and delivering measurable improvements.
- NEBOSH Diploma and environmental qualifications are preferred; Chartered IOSH membership is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and motivate at all levels.

- Salary: Up to £95,000
- Healthcare: Family healthcare cover
- Car Allowance: £9,000 per annum, or equivalent cash allowance
- Bonus: Target bonus of 20% of salary
- Pension: Employer Pension Plan with employer contribution matching up to 7% of salary, with a minimum employer contribution of 4.5%
- Holiday: 25 days annual leave, increasing with length of service after 5 years
