Are you an experienced leader in safety, health, environment and quality looking for an opportunity to shape strategy and drive compliance across multiple sites? Do you have the expertise to develop and implement safety, health, environment and quality initiatives in a growing organisation within the environmental and waste sector? We are seeking a Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Director to lead and enhance standards for a growing waste collection and processing organisation. This is a key strategic role, offering the opportunity to drive cultural and operational improvements across multiple London sites while ensuring compliance with UK regulations and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the health, safety, environment, and quality team, setting objectives, fostering a proactive safety culture, and shaping long-term compliance strategies with senior leadership.
- Overseeing compliance documentation, permits, and licences, ensuring adherence to legislation while acting as the key interface with regulators.
- Driving business and legal change management, leading audits, analysing leading and lagging indicators, and implementing data-driven improvements.
- Overseeing data collection and reporting, using insights to enhance compliance and drive continuous improvement across multiple sites.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the waste industry or similar industrial environments, delivering on strategy at a board level.
- Strong experience as the primary authority for regulatory and compliance documentation and interfacing with relevant stakeholders.
- Ideally NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and Waste Management qualifications.
- Demonstrated expertise as an Audit Manager or Lead Auditor, with a strong track record of managing and leading audits.
