If the answer to the above is yes, then you may be interested in the Project Head of Environment and Sustainability I am currently recruiting for. The role is working with one of the world\’s leading infrastructure and civil engineering construction companies. The company has global revenues of over €19 billion annually and is currently engaged on some of the largest and most exciting infrastructure projects in Europe. This role will be leading a dedicated team on a Multi-Billion pound scheme.
Key responsibilities of the Project Head of Environment and Sustainability will include:
- Lead the environmental and sustainability aspects of the project, ensuring alignment with the overall Environmental & Sustainability Strategy and relevant ISO standards.
- Build and lead an efficient environmental and sustainability team, overseeing recruitment, resourcing, and the professional development of project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure the delivery of environmental and sustainability requirements, including carbon management, environmental consents, and compliance with relevant standards, while tracking performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop strong relationships with project stakeholders, drive continuous improvement in environmental practices, and share best practices and lessons learned across the project and organization.
The successful Project Head of Environment and Sustainability requires:
- Qualified to degree level, or equivalent, in an appropriate environmental discipline
- Professional membership with a recognised environmental body (IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM) ideally holding or working towards chartered status,
- Extensive environmental and sustainability management experience, ideally within large Infrastructure, Civil engineering, or related industry
- Strategic thinker with excellent organization, communication, and time management skills. Experience in project and commercial/contract management, and effective stakeholder engagement with regulators at a senior level.
