Irwin and Colton has been engaged by a well-regarded construction and property services contractor to recruit a Principal Designer. This newly created position will focus primarily on matters relating to the Building Safety Act, supporting a range of clients as they navigate evolving legislation. The organisation has a turnover in excess of £200 million, and this role is pivotal to their continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of Building Safety Cases and Gateway applications across planning, pre-construction, and completion stages
- Advise project teams and clients on compliance with the Building Safety Act and CDM Regulations
- Oversee compliance documentation and maintain strong client relationships through consistent and transparent progress reporting
- Manage the Golden Thread of information and all required building safety data
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Proven experience in a Principal Designer or Building Safety role
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (Diploma preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated legislation (including experience reporting to the Building Safety Regulator)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- A full UK driving licence is essential, as travel will be required.
