Head of Environment

Manchester | Leeds | Newcastle

£70,000 – £75,000 + Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits

Are you ready to step into a senior leadership role where you'll lead on environmental compliance and performance for the organisation's northern operations?

If the answer to any of the above is yes, then you may be interested in the Head of Environmentrole that I am currently recruiting for. My client is a global leader in the waste and recycling sector, operating across hundreds of sites worldwide and generating revenue in excess of £4 billion.

Key responsibilities of the Head of Environment will include:

  • Provide strategic leadership on environmental management across northern operations.
  • Oversee environmental compliance, including the effective management of permits, licences, and ISO certifications.
  • Provide expert guidance on environmental matters, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving positive change.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, including the Environment Agency.

The successful Head of Environment will have:

  • Demonstrable experience in a comparable role, preferably within the industrial sectors and manufacturing space.
  • Holds a degree in an environmental discipline or possesses a relevant professional qualification such as IEMA.
  • Practical knowledge of environmental management systems, including ISO 14001 and environmental permitting.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including good communication and verbal skills
