Are you an experienced HSE professional looking to influence safety culture and environmental practices at a strategic level? Would you thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment where your leadership can make a tangible impact? We are seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to lead the safety and environmental initiatives at a 24/7 manufacturing site. You will work closely with senior management to implement, maintain, and improve HSE standards across the site, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development and delivery of safety and environmental programmes, including audits, risk assessments, investigations, and compliance activities.
- Drive a positive safety culture through staff engagement, training, and communication initiatives.
- Manage the site's Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001:2018, ensuring ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate the environmental licence (IPPC), statutory reporting, and sustainability metrics related to energy, waste, and water.
- Represent the organisation at external HSE forums and build networks for safety development and best practice sharing.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Solid experience within a manufacturing or process environment, particularly in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation, ISO standards, and environmental management.
