This role will help us to do this by providing a professional labouring service that delivers an excellent customer experience whilst adhering to health and safety regulations and organisational policies and procedures.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Support decorators in carrying out painting and decorating work within the customer homes & vacant properties
- Aid all trades team with a range of property repair and maintenance tasks
- Ensure customer’s homes are left clean, secure, safe and disposing of waste in line with company procedures
- Report any potential repairs and safeguarding issues that you notice in the customers’ homes
- Updating PDA systems
- Orders parts, materials or follow-on work as required
We need someone who has:
- Experience undertaking general labouring duties (roofing/ground working), or of working within a similar role
- Experience carrying out and supporting repair-work including associated multi-trade tasks, both internally and externally within customers homes
- Sound building and construction knowledge
- General building maintenance repair knowledge
- Competent in using mobile applications and handled technology including PDA’s
- A full valid driving license.

We are a not-for-profit housing association, providing affordable homes and services to over 16,000 people across Greater Manchester. We build affordable new homes, work with partners to reduce homelessness, and support people to reach their potential.
The team
Our Homes Team make sure customers' homes are well maintained by carrying out repairs, maintenance, and gas servicing. They are very important people! In the team, there are multi-trades people, electricians, ground workers, roofers, gas engineers, plumbers, and joiners, plus general labourers and apprentices. There is also a team of planners and administrative colleagues who keep the show on the road by booking in all the work and making sure our trades colleagues have everything they need to get the job done. Together the Homes Team makes up nearly a third of our whole workforce!
Our customer satisfaction rating is consistently rated as ‘excellent’ and our Homes Team gets more compliments than any other team! The Homes Team were winners of the One Team One Dream Award at our colleague awards in 2020 for their commitment and fantastic teamwork.
