About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated, self-starting and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join the household team of a beautiful family home in London London. You will help maintain an exceptional standard of cleanliness and presentation, bringing a service-first approach and demonstrating discretion, flexibility and professionalism at all times.
You will join an established team: a House Manager, a full-time Housekeeper and a part-time Housekeeper. Duties are shared across the team, so this is not a sole-charge position. You will work both independently and collaboratively to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the household.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping & Cleaning
- Housekeeping of the family home (5 floors, 8 bedrooms), including daily cleaning and scheduled deep cleaning
- Maintaining exceptional and consistent standards of hygiene, cleanliness and presentation
- Cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas
- Caring for luxury furnishings, materials and finishes
- Making beds and keeping all rooms guest-ready
- Maintaining the house entrance, porch and terrace areas
- Seasonal deep cleaning, including appliances, cupboards and silverware
Laundry & Wardrobe Care
- Laundry, ironing and pressing to a high standard
- Care of delicate fabrics, fine garments and formal wear
- Wardrobe organisation and maintenance
Kitchen & Household Support
- Preparing simple, home-style meals (breakfast, lunch and light dinners as required)
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and fridge stocked with fresh produce
- Monitoring food quality and checking expiry dates
Shopping & Household Management
- Grocery shopping, in-store and online (e.g. Ocado)
- Pantry management and stock rotation
- Maintaining an inventory of household and cleaning products
- Running errands
Front of House & Security
- Answering the door and carrying out first-level security checks
- Meeting visitors at the correct entrance
- Receiving, organising and distributing deliveries
- Coordinating with vendors, contractors and service providers
Additional Duties
- Light maintenance tasks, such as changing lightbulbs
- Assisting with occasional weekend housesitting or lock-up (with prior notice; TOIL given)
- Supporting seasonal and holiday-specific household needs
About You
- Previous experience as a housekeeper in a private household, ideally a large or high-end home
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
- Experience caring for luxury finishes, delicate fabrics and fine garments
- Confident preparing simple, home-style meals
- Discreet, trustworthy and professional
- A positive team player who is also comfortable working on their own initiative
- Flexible and adaptable as household needs change
- Clear, courteous communicator
