About the Role: We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Account Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day client relationships, overseeing campaign execution, and securing impactful media coverage across multiple sectors. You'll play a key role in shaping narratives, driving results, and contributing to the strategic growth of your accounts.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organised, and confident in managing multiple projects simultaneously. You will work closely with senior team members to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality work that exceeds client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring ongoing alignment with their goals and expectations. Build and maintain trusted relationships through regular updates, strategic counsel, and consistent value delivery. Support the development and presentation of strategic communication plans and campaign reports.
- Media Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors, and influencers across traditional and digital media. Proactively pitch stories, news, and thought leadership pieces that align with client objectives and news cycles. Monitor media trends and identify opportunities for relevant media placements.
- Campaign & Strategy Execution: Work with cross-functional teams to execute multi-channel PR campaigns that include earned, owned, and shared media. Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure campaigns run smoothly and effectively. Draft press releases, briefing documents, media alerts, and other communication materials with precision and flair.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Track media coverage and prepare insightful client reports with clear metrics and analysis. Use data and client feedback to refine strategies and improve performance.
- Minimum 3–5 years of PR experience, ideally in an agency setting.
- Proven ability to manage B2B, B2C, or Tech clients.
- Strong understanding of the South African and Sub-Saharan media landscape, with international media knowledge a plus.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Strong media pitching skills with a track record of securing high-quality media coverage.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
