We have a fantastic position for a Materials Controller to join our clientβs team in the Wallsend area. The position is for an immediate start and likely to be around an 8 month assignment. Possible permanent opportunities available. Working Monday to Thursday β 07:00 β 16:00hrs and Friday 07:00hrs β 15:30hrs (42 hours per week) As a material controller your duties will consist of the following Key Responsibilities β’ Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, conduct cycle/PI counts, update ERP/stock systems, and maintain data accuracy. β’ Supply Chain Coordination: Liaise with procurement and suppliers for timely material replenishment and manage supplier performance. β’ Logistics & Distribution: Arrange transportation, manage warehouse organisation, and deliver materials to production/lineside locations. β’ Quality Control: Inspect incoming materials, report issues (shortages, quality), and ensure proper storage and handling. β’ Production Support: Ensure materials are available for scheduled projects, resolve material shortages (progress chasing), and support production planning. β’ Reporting & Improvement: Identify discrepancies, recommend solutions, and contribute to continuous improvement in material processes. Essential Skills & Qualifications β’ Skills: Strong organisational, time management, analytical, and communication skills; ability to work under pressure and independently. β’ Knowledge: Inventory control methods, ERP systems, Microsoft Office. β’ Experience: Background in logistics, inventory, purchasing, or a related field. β’ FLT experience Β£14.50 per hour β For the first 38 hours worked and approved, depending on experience. Β£18.85 per hour β In excess of 38 hours worked and approved. Β£21.75 per hour β Saturday hours worked and approved. Β£29.00 per hour β Sunday and Bank Holiday hours worked and approved.
