Irrigonics are an award‐winning, nationwide water hygiene solutions provider. Due to continued growth, we are expanding our team in the Midlands and are seeking an experienced Legionella Risk Assessor with the ability to support water hygiene monitoring when required. This is a risk assessment–led role. Water hygiene duties are a secondary capability to support operational delivery.
Role Overview
As a Legionella Risk Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing domestic water systems, identifying Legionella risk, and producing accurate, defensible risk assessment reports in line with ACOP L8 and HSG274. This is a safety‐critical role requiring strong technical judgement, attention to detail, and the confidence to identify non‐compliance.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience carrying out Legionella risk assessments
- Strong working knowledge of HSG274 and ACOP L8
- Full UK driving licence (no more than 3 points)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct Legionella risk assessments across a range of client premises
- Inspect hot and cold water systems, including TMVs, tanks, outlets, and pipework
- Identify non‐compliance, system deficiencies, and risk factors
- Produce accurate, evidence‐based reports using Irrigonics' in‐house system
- Temperature monitoring of hot and cold water systems
- Showerhead and hose disinfection and descaling
- Cold water storage tank inspections, cleaning, and disinfection
- TMV servicing (where competent)
- Checking and monitoring chemical dosing systems
General Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records and site documentation
- Use phone/tablet systems to log works and reports
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients
- Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams
- Work independently and as part of a wider team
Role Requirements
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required
- Flexibility to support operational needs (notice provided)
- Ability to work under pressure and manage workload effectively
- Must pass an Enhanced DBS check
