This Property Compliance Officer role is based in Watford, with flexibility to work from home for part of the week. The role is responsible for ensuring that our housing association meets all regulatory requirements and maintains compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will also ensure that remedial works are completed in line with industry lead and company policy expectations with consideration of IronOak residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Review regular property inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, building regulations, and other relevant standards.
  • Implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and track compliance issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions to address any identified non-compliance.
  • Prepare and submit reports as required, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities and remediation works.
  • Develop and implement remediation plans to address and resolve any issues.
  • Review assessments and inspections to identify any potential hazards or issues that need to be addressed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements and coordinate and complete remediation works.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of the social housing sector with a particular focus on property maintenance.
  • Proven experience of working closely with a variety of stakeholders, including contractors.
  • Good understanding of landlord statutory compliance and HMO regulations.
  • Proven experience in property compliance or a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Good standard of education with good literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in using computer software and applications related to compliance management.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
