Job Summary
Operates heaviest goods vehicle - truck/lorry - which usually has 6 or more wheels and detachable trailer. Transport materials to and from specified destinations, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads. Ensures accuracy of logs and other required documentation. Operates tractor trailer trucks/lorries to pick up and deliver products, supplies and equipment to and from organization, supplier and customer sites. Actions may involve complex pickups and deliveries, e.g., night deliveries, international travel, transport of dangerous and hazardous products. Requires a commercial/heavy goods driving license, however please check local rules. Examples: Lorry/Tractor-trailers, double and triple trailers, tractor-trailer buses, tanker vehicles. Job Level Requires skills developed through formal training or work experience. Works within established procedures and guidelines with limited ability to modify approach and moderate degree of supervision.
