In this role, you will be responsible for the lifecycle management, compliance, functionality, and security of our Apple ecosystem and Windows endpoints, specifically covering macOS, iOS, and iPadOS devices. You will act as a subject matter expert, offering deep technical support, managing vulnerabilities, and driving the automated deployment and maintenance of our Mac fleet to ensure an exceptional user experience.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
  • Endpoint Lifecycle & Configuration Management: Manage the entire software and hardware lifecycle for Apple devices. This includes designing and maintaining a zero‑touch deployment strategy using Apple Business Manager and Kandji, building custom software packages (.pkg, .dmg), and curating a Self‑Service application catalog.
  • Vulnerability, Patching & Compliance: Proactively manage security vulnerabilities, system hardening (CIS benchmarks), and operating system/application patching across the Mac fleet in line with company SLAs to ensure minimal disruption to users.
  • Automation & Infrastructure Support: Utilize scripting languages (Bash, Zsh, Python) to automate repetitive tasks and streamline processes. Collaborate with the global team to optimize our MDM infrastructure (Kandji) and oversee Managed Apple IDs.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Diagnose, track, and resolve complex performance and compatibility issues across macOS platforms. Provide prompt, expert support via ticket queues within established SLAs, and escalate issues with partners like Apple as needed.
  • Cross‑Platform & Secure Environment Support: Provide similar systems engineering support for Windows devices and operate effectively in secure environments requiring security clearance.
What You’ll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)
  • Professional Experience: Relevant experience as a Systems Engineer alongside experience as a Support Engineer, preferably within a large corporate environment managing a large fleet (1000+ of Mac devices).
  • Technical & MDM Expertise: In‑depth knowledge of macOS, iOS, and iPadOS system internals. Hands‑on experience with modern MDM solutions is required, with expert‑level knowledge of Kandji highly preferred (experience with Jamf Pro or Workspace ONE is also valuable).
  • Tools & Automation: Strong scripting skills for automation using Bash, Zsh, and/or Python. Practical experience with Apple Business Manager (ADE/DEP, VPP), Tanium management tools, and ITSM platforms like ServiceNow.
  • Problem‑Solving & Collaboration: Proven ability as an innovative thinker and creative problem‑solver who can build effective working relationships within a global, collaborative team environment.
  • Education & Certifications: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Apple Certifications are highly valued). Non‑traditional and neurodiversity learners and thinkers are warmly welcome.
  • Security & Communication Requirements: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Candidates must be eligible or approved for UK Government security clearance.

  • Location: 100% Remote (UK‑based). Candidates must be located in the UK and maintain the flexibility to travel to Iron Mountain Warehouses or Offices if specific project requirements arise.
  • Compensation: Competitive compensation and benefits aligned with your professional experience.
