As an HGV Driver & Fine Art Technician at Crozier, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding priceless artistic creations. You will expertly handle, pack, and install a diverse range of valuable artworks, including paintings, sculptures, antiquities, textiles, and contemporary installations. Your responsibilities will extend to meticulous condition reporting and delivering unparalleled art transportation, secure storage, and professional installation services for leading galleries, museums, private collectors, and artists.
Your role in our mission:
- Safely and delicately handle, transport, and install diverse artworks, following strict protocols.
- Assist with the precise packing and crating of art pieces, guaranteeing their protection during transit.
- Participate in the professional installation and de-installation of artworks at various locations.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the HGV is in optimal condition for art transportation.
- Work closely with art professionals to ensure the seamless execution of all art logistics projects.
- Conduct thorough condition reports and apply appropriate preservation techniques to safeguard delicate art mediums.
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and complete all necessary paperwork diligently.
- Adhere to all legal driving requirements, including tachograph regulations and working hours.
Valued skills and experience:
- Previous experience working as a Fine Art Technician, Art Handler, or in a similar role within the art logistics field.
- Possession of a valid HGV (Class 1 or 2) license and up-to-date CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
- Proficiency in handling various art mediums, including paintings, sculptures, antiques, and contemporary art pieces.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of precision and professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
- Physical fitness and the capability to lift heavy objects and artworks.
- Familiarity with industry-standard tools and equipment used in art handling and transportation.
