Crozier Fine Arts is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented UK Customs Manager to join our team in London.
THE ROLE
As our Customs Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and compliant international movement of fine art, navigating complex customs procedures and regulations. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining our reputation for excellence and providing exceptional service to our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all aspects of customs formalities for air and road import and export clearances, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare and process T-forms and bond/diversion entries, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of relevant procedures.
- Maintain strict adherence to all UK and international customs regulations, ensuring full compliance and mitigating potential risks.
- Uphold and enhance our Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status, ensuring ongoing compliance and maximising benefits.
- Manage deferment accounts and provide expert advice on VAT implications related to fine art movements.
- Maintain and oversee our Temporary Authorisation and Bonded Warehouse facilities, ensuring security and compliance.
- Manage operations within our External Temporary Storage Facility (ETSF) and Designated Export Place (DEP).
- Identify and implement improvements to internal customs processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide expert guidance and assistance to clients on customs procedures and best practices.
- Liaise with airlines to ensure smooth and timely movement of shipments.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Proven customs experience within the fine art logistics industry, demonstrating a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of handling valuable artworks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK and international customs regulations, including AEO, deferment, and VAT.
- Extensive experience in preparing and processing customs entries, T-forms, and bond/diversion entries.
- Strong understanding of ETSF and DEP operations.
- Experience supporting Temporary Authorisation and Bonded Warehouse facilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
