What You’ll Do
- Conduct daily site audits, risk assessments, and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) reviews across warehouse, dock, and yard areas, while performing root-cause investigations and implementing CAPA plans for all incidents.
- Collaborate with operational teams, the site SHEQ Committee, external regulatory inspectors, and client audit teams to deliver safety inductions, contractor clearances, and regular toolbox talks.
- Ensure compliance with food industry safety standards, UK/EU regulations, HSE requirements, RIDDOR reporting, COSHH storage, chemical spill readiness, energy reduction initiatives, and ISO management frameworks.
What You’ll Bring
- Commercial experience in a dedicated SHEQ role within a high-volume logistics, fulfillment, or distribution warehouse environment, with practical experience in the food/fresh food industry.
- Strong knowledge of MHE operations, racking systems, manual handling regulations, COSHH assessments, and ISO 9001/14001/45001 internal auditing.
- Proven ability in behavioral safety leadership, conflict resolution, cross-functional communication, and continuous improvement.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent IOSH Managing Safely certification).
