As we continue to expand, we're excited to introduce a new role within our team. We're looking for a motivated and dynamic Equipment Buyer & Salesperson to help us find and sell top-quality machinery for our well-funded private operation.
About the Role
This is a dual-focused role requiring a keen eye for sourcing used construction equipment, combined with the commercial acumen to sell them effectively. You'll play a key part in helping Iron & Earth Equipment grow its inventory and customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively source used machinery from fleets, end users, dealers and online platforms
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers
- Evaluate machinery specifications, pricing, and condition to ensure profitable purchases
- Manage sales enquiries, negotiate deals, and close sales
- Coordinate inspections, transport, and delivery logistics
- Keep accurate records using our CRM and inventory systems
- Stay up-to-date on market trends, pricing, and competitor activity
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in machinery or equipment sales, sourcing, or procurement (construction/agri industry preferred)
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and commercially aware
- Have a wealth of senior contacts within the plant machinery industry
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Tech-savvy, able to work with CRM systems, marketplaces, and spreadsheets
- Valid UK driving licence (some travel may be required)
