Band Coach (Rock and Pop Music Teacher)

Salary: Starting at £27,000 per year, with the opportunity to progress to £31,000
Bonus: Annual bonus linked to both company and individual performance (up to £1,500 per year)
Additional pay: Mileage paid at 45p per business mile (in between schools)

Travel package: Support with car costs through our iRock road ready scheme

Holiday: 11 weeks of paid school holidays, plus bank holidays
Contract: Full-time, permanent

Location: This role involves teaching at multiple schools around Trowbridge and the surrounding areas.

iRock School of Music is an award-winning organisation bringing the excitement of rock and pop music into primary schools across the UK. Every week, tens of thousands of children take part in our lively band sessions, boosting their confidence, teamwork and creativity along the way.

As a Band Coach, you’ll be at the heart of this experience, helping children discover what they can achieve and creating moments they’ll remember long after the lesson ends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead fun, high-energy band sessions for groups of primary-aged children across up to 10 schools each week
  • Teach drums, keyboard, guitar, bass and vocals, with confidence in at least two of them
  • Build warm, positive relationships with pupils, parents and school staff
  • Help children prepare for their live performances
  • Carry out light daily admin (around 30 minutes per day)
  • Support learners working towards entry-level RSL music awards
  • Set up and pack away equipment as part of the daily routine

About You

  • Competent on at least two instruments (Drums, Guitar, Keys and Vocals)
  • Friendly, upbeat and able to connect quickly with both children and adults
  • Passionate about inspiring children through music
  • Organised and comfortable managing a varied weekly timetable
  • Reliable and dedicated to giving each child a great experience
  • A clear communicator who adapts easily to different environments
  • Comfortable with the physical side of the job, including moving equipment
  • Full UK driving licence and your own vehicle (essential)
