About the Role

  • Position: Band Coach (Rock and Pop Music Teacher)
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, daytime only
  • Location: Teaching at multiple schools around Norwich and surrounding areas (Dereham, Lowestoft, Carbrooke). You must have a full UK driving licence and car.
  • Starting Salary: £27,000 p/a
  • Additional Earnings: Band Coaches can earn £1,500 OTE through our performance‑related bonus scheme
  • Holiday: 11 weeks fully paid school holidays
  • Travel: 45p per business mile travelled, plus access to a motor assistance programme
  • Start date: January 2026

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver Rock and Pop Band Sessions: Teach groups at up to 10 primary schools per week.
  • Teach Multiple Instruments in a Band Setting: Show children how to play drums, keyboard, guitar or vocals (at least two instruments required).
  • Foster Relationships: Build strong connections with parents, schools and the wider community.
  • Performances: Help pupils shine in their first live performances.
  • Administrative Duties: Handle daily administrative tasks (approx 30 minutes per day).
  • Certify Students: Within the RSL structure help children achieve entry‑level qualification.
  • Active Role: Engage in physically active work including loading/unloading musical equipment.

  • Musical Talent: Ability to play at least two of drums, keyboard, guitar or vocals and good all‑round musical knowledge.
  • Driving: Valid driving licence and own car.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisation and IT skills to manage schedule and tasks.
  • Passion and Confidence: Confident individual loving music and building positive relationships.
  • Reliability: Dependable and committed to providing consistent high‑quality music education.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent at building relationships and communicating with children and adults.
