Technician – Heathrow Airport

Salary: £40,000 rising to £42,000 after probation.

Shift Pattern:

Week 1: MON – THUR (6:00 AM to 4:00 PM)

Week 2: TUE – FRI (6:00 AM to 4:00 PM)

Call out 1 week in 6.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of Specialised equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work effectively with various tools and equipment. The Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that all vehicles are safe, reliable, and compliant with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on GSE's (Ground Servicing Equipment), ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Diagnose faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and techniques.
  • Perform equipment repairs, including soldering and welding as necessary.
  • Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Read and interpret schematics to understand vehicle systems and components.
  • Fabricate parts or components as required to meet repair needs.
  • Operate forklifts safely for the movement of materials and vehicles within the workshop.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time taken.
  • Ensure that the workshop is kept clean, organised, and safe at all times.

  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical schematics.
  • Experience in welding and fabrication is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with operating forklifts safely within a workshop environment.
