Job Description
- Lead and motivate a team of drivers, planners, and administrators on the night shift.
- Ensure all operations are compliant with transport legislation, driver hours, tachograph and vehicle safety standards.
- Manage nightly delivery schedules to meet the service level agreements and performance KPIs.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues such as breakdowns, delays and customer queries.
- Drive a culture of safety, efficiency and teamwork, conducting briefings and incident reviews.
- Analyse and report on key metrics including OTIF, vehicle utilisation, and driver compliance.
- Support continuous improvement and cost control initiatives across the contract.
 About You
- Proven experience in transport or logistics management, ideally within retail or FMCG distribution.
- Confident people manager with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Sound understanding of UK transport compliance and Health & Safety.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced night-shift environment.
- Transport Manager CPCÂ qualification would be a benefit (or willingness to obtain).
- IT literate with working knowledge of transport systems and Microsoft Office.
