Job Description

Transport Team Manager (Nights)Location: NorthwichHours: Nights – 4 on / 4 off (18:00–06:00)Salary: £32,000 About the RoleWe’re working with a leading logistics company looking for an experienced and proactive Transport Team Manager (Nights) Reporting to the Transport Manager, you’ll lead the night shift transport operation to deliver exceptional service, compliance, and performance. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team of drivers, planners, and administrators on the night shift.
  • Ensure all operations are compliant with transport legislation, driver hours, tachograph and vehicle safety standards.
  • Manage nightly delivery schedules to meet the service level agreements and performance KPIs.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues such as breakdowns, delays and customer queries.
  • Drive a culture of safety, efficiency and teamwork, conducting briefings and incident reviews.
  • Analyse and report on key metrics including OTIF, vehicle utilisation, and driver compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement and cost control initiatives across the contract.

 About You

  • Proven experience in transport or logistics management, ideally within retail or FMCG distribution.
  • Confident people manager with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound understanding of UK transport compliance and Health & Safety.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced night-shift environment.
  • Transport Manager CPC qualification would be a benefit (or willingness to obtain).
  • IT literate with working knowledge of transport systems and Microsoft Office.
