Chief Finance Officer (CFO)Role DescriptionIntroductionJoin our business as Chief Financial Officer leading financial activity and driving financial strategy across the business.  The role will work closely with the Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer during a period of growth ensuring long-term financial health and stability across all areas of the business.The role will include financial oversight of 14 departments.  The role will include line management of the finance team, financial reporting, budgeting and regulatory reporting.Principle Responsibilities

  • Develop and build processes to streamline the financial activities in the business using a continuous improvement approach which includes creating, communicating and implementing a vision for the finance function
  • To identify, harmonise, test, implement, monitor and audit financial processes and procedures
  • Maintain all financial policies in line with the Policy Management Framework
  • Drive the financial growth and support strategic growth of the Business
  • Undertake detailed due diligence on prospective aquisitions
  • Oversee and where necessary undertake budget setting and monitoring
  • Produce and maintain multiyear and multi scenario forecasting for all current and potential business activities
  • Ensure the business meets requirements set out by all appropriate bodies
  • To monitor the financial performance of departments regularly and systematically and report the outcomes to the Executive Team and Directors
  • Provide financial reports to the Executive Team and Directors
  • To work with the Business accountant to co-ordinate and co-operate with the work of the external auditor and prepare and submit audited statutory consolidated accounts to responsible bodies and Companies House in accordance with required deadlines
  • Lead on the internal audits required to be undertaken providing guidance to Directors and managing any actions.
  • Submit Grant applications for all parts of the Business delivering additional income to support Business activities
  • Work with the Executive Team to enhance existing and introduce new income streams to support Business activities
  • Be responsible for all financial activities including but not limited to VAT, depreciation and assessment management. This includes for any Business subsidiaries
  • Managing third parties who provide financial support to the Business
  • Implementing appropriate measures to prevent and detect fraud and corruption
  • Line manage and appraise the performance of the central finance team and support in the management of other financial staff within the Business
  • Become the Data Protection Officer for the Business including supporting the Executive Team with Data Protection compliance and queries
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders within and outside of the Business
  • Maintain a Risk Management Policy and Register
  • Any other activities required to be undertaken by the Business
