Driver patterns: Days, nights and tramping
The role: Kinaxia are looking for an experienced HGV Driver Trainer / Assessor to take responsibility for developing, assessing and improving driver standards across the Bristol operation.
You’d be working closely with the existing driving workforce, carrying out driver assessments, practical training, coaching and ongoing development, while helping ensure high standards of safety, compliance and fuel-efficient driving.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out practical HGV driver assessments and competency checks
- Delivering driver training, coaching and development
- Supporting new driver inductions and onboarding
- Identifying areas where individual drivers require additional training
- Improving driving standards, safety and fuel efficiency
- Supporting compliance around Drivers’ Hours, Working Time Directive and tachographs
- Investigating driving-related incidents and providing remedial training where required
- Maintaining accurate training and assessment records
- Working alongside the transport management team to improve overall driver performance and compliance
- Being comfortable working with drivers operating days, nights and tramping routes
Ideal background: An experienced HGV/LGV Driver Trainer, Driver Assessor or HGV Driving Instructor, with a strong practical HGV background.
Relevant training/assessing qualifications such as A1 Assessor, CAVA, RTITB, SAFED, Train the Trainer, PTLLS/CTLLS or Driver CPC training qualifications would be particularly relevant.
