About the role: We are looking for an experienced legal cashier to join our finance team based in our Stockport office. This role is ideal for someone with at least two years' experience in a law firm finance environment who is ready to progress their career. As part of our close-knit team of five, you will play a vital role in keeping our financial operations running efficiently while ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Cashiering and accounts administration:
- Processing client and office account transactions
- Posting receipts, payments, transfers and write offs
- Monitoring and managing client account balances
- Managing petty cash, credit card transactions and expense claims
- Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments
- Producing and maintaining monthly management reports including fee earner performance reports, departmental performance reports, departmental cost and revenue analyses
- Supporting the Head of Finance/COFA with preparation of management accounts
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing data and reports as required
- Maintain accurate financial data within the practice management system
- Support process improvements to enhance productivity
- Provide training and guidance to colleagues on financial procedures where appropriate
About you:
- Experience working as a legal cashier within a law firm
- Thorough knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Experience preparing and interpreting management reports
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience using legal accounting software (P4W experience preferred)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
