HR Business Partner

Role Purpose:
To partner with various stakeholders and provide specialist HR support and guidance across the full employee lifecycle. To support on the delivery of the people plan under programme and provide an effective HR service to leaders, people managers and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations

  • Ensure all employees and line managers are adhering to our HR policies and procedures and update these in line with legislation and best practice
  • Be the HR lead for providing specific and timely advice/recommendations in regards to employee relations with reference to policy, process or legislation
  • Assist line managers in meetings where required and ensure all written documentation/ templates are accurate and in line with best practice standards
  • Understands current and pending employment legislation or themes in relation to best practice and ensure these are covered via policy reviews
  • Escalate key risks to the Chief People Officer and define and implement short term plans to mitigate the risk and/or resolve the issue

Reward & Benefits

  • Advise and coach managers on employee reward and benefits in line with internal job grading to ensure fairness and consistency across the business
  • Support on the creation and implementation of new or enhanced reward and benefits schemes

Training and Development

  • Provide guidance and support to line managers on L&D plans for their team
  • Actively support on creating and delivering HR related training to line managers
  • Work with the Head of L&D to utilise the HR system for training records for employees and produce L&D related data insights

Talent Management

  • Support on enhancing our recruitment process including any required documentation, shortlisting, interviews and engagement with external agencies
  • Support the business to identify key talent and develop high potential employees
  • Support on talent assessments and succession planning across on the business
  • Provide recruitment training and support to managers as required

HR Projects and Implementation

  • Support on the delivery and implementation of all strategic HR and change initiatives
  • Lead on business specific HR projects under the GV30 Global Vision Programme
  • Ensure all project tasks are completed within agreed timescales and provide project updates where required

HR Data and Trends

  • Produce, monitor and review HR data (e.g. turnover, absence, performance) to identify key trends and work with managers to implement any necessary action plans
  • Provide timely HR data for board reviews with an analysis of key trends
  • Promote and implement best practice in regards to HR data/record on the HR system

Experience

  • Proven track record as an experienced HR Generalist ideally within a similar sector
  • Experience in partnering with different levels of management and providing support or coaching where required
  • Experience in supporting across the full employee lifecycle
  • Experience in managing a range of complex employee relations cases
  • Experience in implementing tailored HR solutions within a business
  • Experience in supporting the delivery of a people plan, HR initiatives and projects

Skills and Knowledge

  • In-depth understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated through the ability to maintain great working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
  • Resilient and proactive with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse data to inform decisions
  • IT Proficient across MS applications, HR software and systems
  • CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent experience)
  • Full clean driving license
