Your new company Hays have partnered with one of Ireland\’s leading commercial property consultants to assist with the search and appointment of a new Centre Manager for a flagship shopping centre in the North West. Your new role This is a permanent appointment based at a premier shopping centre in Derry/Londonderry City where the successful candidate will take responsibility for the continued growth and success of the centre and its tenants. Some of the key duties will include: To liaise and build relationships with all appropriate local authorities and other local bodies, to include City Centre Initiative, Inner City Trust and other neighbourhood forums, ensuring that the centre forms an integral part of the local community. Liaise with all Tenants encouraging them to effectively and efficiently carry out their business and, wherever possible, integrate their marketing with that of the Centre. To conduct a Tenants forum and maintain monthly meetings. Meet with Tenants area managers on a regular basis in order to understand; Performance of their store in regional/national context How the Centre can help improve performance in any way. Undertake regular meetings with store managers in order to obtain trading data and feedback on their performance from a local level. Communicate with the Property Manager and Asset Manager on local issues affecting the Centre. Assist with the implementation of the Clients Asset Management strategy. To lead the on-site team ensuring satisfactory performance of their duties in accordance with their job descriptions, taking responsibility for their motivation and development. As the Centre Manager, you will mainly work Monday to Friday with the expectation that you will also work a Saturday or Sunday 1 weekend per month, taking a day in lieu mid-week. What you\’ll need to succeed To be suitable for this role, you must be able to demonstrate that you have the appropriate level of experience in the following areas: Experience at senior management level in a high-profile retail environment Understanding of trading data Media relations Modern marketing and social media Asset management strategies Compliance with statutory legislation for building maintenance and health & safety Service charge, budget and service contracts Management and development of staff Chairing meetings and forums Cleaning standards What you\’ll get in return This is a great opportunity for someone in the retail sector who is seeking the chance to step up into a larger role with a broader scope of responsibilities and ultimately move their career forward within the high street retail sector.
