Energis is recruiting for a Process Engineer on behalf of our manufacturing client based in North Down. This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative manufacturing environment where you will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, reducing waste, and maintaining exceptional quality standards. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, a passion for continuous improvement, and ideally experience within the plastics or a related manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor lean manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and tooling teams to optimise equipment performance and recommend upgrades or modifications where appropriate.
  • Work closely with the Quality team to ensure compliance with customer and industry standards while maintaining strict manufacturing tolerances.
  • Deliver training and support to production teams on lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Partner with R&D, Engineering, and Production teams to support new product introduction, process validation, and ongoing manufacturing improvements.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Process Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering and manufacturing software, such as CAD, ERP systems, or process simulation tools.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience within the plastics or related manufacturing industries.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
