Blair House Care Home is a well-established, registered nursing facility located on the outskirts of Newtownards, with the iconic Scrabo Tower as its backdrop. Conveniently situated near the town centre, the home is easily accessible via a range of transport options. Our spacious home offers care and support for up to 85 residents across four specialised units: Residential Dementia, Nursing Dementia, Frail and Elderly Nursing, and our newly opened Mental Health Unit. Each unit is designed to meet the unique needs of our residents in a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment.

The role of a Registered Nurse in our services is a key position in our mission to provide excellent and inclusive care. The Registered Nurse is a leadership role, playing a vital part in managing the care of our residents and providing high-quality and person-centred care. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care plans tailored to the individual needs of our residents. We pride ourselves on being able to deliver excellent care to our residents; as a Registered Nurse, you will support the management of shifts, ensuring the safety of all residents and our team. The role of Registered Nurse is always evolving, and having a commitment to personal and professional development will ensure that you are able to make a positive difference in the lives of our residents and their families.

Main Responsibilities

  • Delivering person centred care to each resident
  • Assess and monitor the physical health of residents within care plans
  • To offer support and supervise all care staff or new recruits
  • Ensure effective communication of any concerns relating to resident care
  • Complying with relevant regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager
