We are hiring for our client for an experienced Hygiene Manager to lead and develop the hygiene function within a busy and fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This Hygiene Manager role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety and compliance are maintained across the site. The successful Hygiene Manager will lead the hygiene team, drive continuous improvement initiatives and work closely with Production, Engineering and Technical teams to ensure the facility remains audit-ready and operates to industry-leading standards. The Role

  • Lead, motivate and develop the Hygiene team to deliver exceptional cleaning and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure all hygiene activities comply with BRC, HACCP, customer requirements and food safety legislation.
  • Manage daily, weekly and periodic cleaning schedules across production and high-care areas.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance hygiene performance and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare for and support customer, regulatory and third-party audits, ensuring the site remains audit-ready.
  • Monitor hygiene KPIs, environmental testing and verification activities, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering and Technical teams to minimise downtime while maintaining the highest hygiene standards.
  • Manage hygiene chemicals, contractors and external service providers where appropriate.
  • Deliver hygiene-related training and promote a strong food safety culture throughout the business.
  • Investigate hygiene-related non-conformances and implement robust root cause analysis and corrective actions.

The Person

  • Previous experience in a Hygiene Manager or senior hygiene leadership role within food manufacturing.
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS and food safety legislation.
  • Experience managing and developing teams within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Production, Technical and Engineering teams.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, with willingness to support occasional evening operations.
  • Relevant Food Safety or Hygiene qualifications would be advantageous.
