A leading UK building services contractor is seeking a Senior BIM Coordinator (MEP) to join their growing team in Mallusk. This is an excellent opportunity to take a lead role in the coordination and delivery of major building services projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe, including data centres, healthcare, commercial, education, residential, airport and renewable energy developments.
Working closely with the BIM, Design, Pre-Construction and Operations teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring the successful coordination of complex MEP installations from design through to construction while helping drive BIM best practice across the business.
As Senior BIM Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating MEP services across multiple live projects, ensuring designs are fully integrated, clash-free and delivered to programme. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and reviewing MEP BIM models across multiple projects.
- Identifying and resolving clashes using Autodesk Navisworks and other BIM coordination tools.
- Reviewing MEP drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications, design standards and client requirements.
- Liaising with consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and project teams throughout the design process.
- Supporting off-site fabrication and site delivery teams through effective design coordination.
- Monitoring design progress, managing revisions and maintaining BIM documentation.
- Identifying potential installation risks and developing practical solutions.
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members while promoting BIM best practice across the business.
- Attending coordination meetings and providing regular project updates to key stakeholders.
- Driving continuous improvement in BIM processes, workflows and standards.
What you'll need to succeed:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience within Building Services, BIM Coordination or MEP Design Coordination.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing services installations.
- Experience working on large-scale commercial, healthcare, industrial, pharmaceutical or data centre projects.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Navisworks and BIM coordination processes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to challenging deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and design coordination.
Desirable:
- Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
- Contractor-side experience within a building services environment.
- Knowledge of off-site fabrication and modern construction methods.
